The government has set a goal of dramatically increasing the rate of use of parental leave for men and lowering the rate of career breaks for women following childbirth by more than half.

The Low Fertility Aging Society Committee held the 6th Population Emergency Measure Meeting and decided to manage the current situation to raise men's use of parental leave from 6.8% in 2022 to 50% in 2027 and 70% in 2030.

In addition, the rate of career breaks for women aged 30 to 44 will be reduced by more than half from the current 22.3% to 10% in 2030.

In the field of education and care, a plan has also been set to drastically reduce the average number of waiting days for child care services from 33 days in 2023 to 5 days in 2030.

In addition, the number of support personnel for the male and female fertility test will be expanded from 80,000 in 2023 to 240,000 in 2030, and measures and status will be checked.
