Goyang Eunpyeong Line is a 15-kilometer-long line that runs from Saejeol Station on Seoul Subway Line 6 to Goyang City Hall Station via Hwajeong District, Changneung District, and Haengshin Jungang-ro in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province.
Eight stations will be built with a total project cost of KRW 1.7167 trillion, and the target time for opening will be 2031.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport expected that the opening of the Goyang Eunpyeong Line would ease chronic traffic congestion in the northwestern part of the Seoul metropolitan area, including Changneung district in Goyang and Eunpyeong-gu in Seoul.
When the Goyang Line opens, it will take 20 minutes from Goyang City Hall Station to Saejeol Station, which is expected to be significantly reduced compared to 50 minutes for buses and 35 minutes by car.
