The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and others held a press conference at Seoul Station today (3rd) and claimed that the Korea Railroad Corporation and Seoul Transportation Corporation lacked safety-related personnel as they hired fewer new workers or made large-scale restructuring.
They criticized that the public transportation sector, which should prioritize safety and publicity, has put the safety of citizens and workers on the back burner due to restructuring or lack of safety personnel.
He also said he would support the strike of the two unions for civil safety, saying that he had asked the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance to operate personnel for safety.
Earlier, the National Railroad Workers' Union announced a strike on the 5th, demanding a wage increase and more manpower, and the Seoul Transportation Corporation union also announced a strike on the 6th.
