The Korean Legal Association said today (4th) that it has filed a constitutional petition with the Constitutional Court stating that the declaration of emergency martial law and the subsequent exercise of public power violates the Constitution and violates the basic rights of the people.

The association explained that although President Yoon lifted the emergency martial law, there is a risk of similar incidents repeating in the future and whether the declaration of martial law is unconstitutional is a case of constitutional significance, so the Constitutional Court needs to decide.
