A series of voices criticizing the president also erupted in the university district.

Faculty and university students strongly criticized the president's sudden declaration of emergency martial law in a declaration of the current situation.

A long line of red pickets runs inside Korea University's campus in Anam-dong, Seoul.

"Retreat! Step down! Step down!"

More than 370 professors and researchers from Korea University made an emergency declaration condemning President Yoon Suk Yeol's declaration of emergency martial law.

Students from Yonsei University took to the free speech table one by one and raised their voices of condemnation.

Referring to the history of resisting injustice, he said he would continue the tradition.

[Kim Taeyang / Department of Sociology at Yonsei University] Our students came here because they could not just look at Yoon Suk Yeol's attempts to cultivate democracy.]

It was written in bold on the handwritten poster, "We can no longer see a world where fairness and common sense do not work."

Students from Dongguk University gathered together to declare the situation, and 108 people participated in the life-sustaining campaign.

[Hong Yerin / Dongguk University Department of Sociology No. 19: I saw a government declaring emergency martial law as soon as my approval rating was in jeopardy. I saw a gunfire rush in to crush the National Assembly.]

In addition, from Hanyang University, Sookmyung Women's University to Incheon National University, students said they have seen illegal martial law, which has only been seen in history, in a more backward way in reality, stressing that they will "act" to the situation they witnessed during the dawn.

On top of that, the People's Solidarity for Participatory Democracy says that declaring emergency martial law is a challenge to a group of democracy with fatigue.

The Lawyers for a Democratic Society group pointed out that the president, who calls the criticizing citizens an anti-state force, should resign himself.
