The Korean Catholic Bishops' Association issued a statement saying, "The president should come to the public in person to explain a series of situations, sincerely apologize, and take responsibility for the process of declaring and lifting emergency martial law."
The Korean Council of Churches also stipulated that "declaring emergency martial law is unconstitutional" and said, "President Yoon Suk Yeol should kneel and apologize and take judicial responsibility."
The Won Buddhism Social Reform Mission also criticized the declaration of emergency martial law as a "clear violation of the Constitution."
