The investigation headquarters told the Ministry of National Defense's press corps today that they received four requests from counterintelligence agents to support 100 investigators after declaring martial law on the 3rd, but they did not respond because they judged there was no basis.
He added that the requested times were 10:43 p.m. and 11:05 p.m., 11:28 p.m. and 11:52 p.m. on the 3rd.
The investigation headquarters, however, sent 10 investigators at the request of the Joint Investigation Headquarters, but the National Assembly decided to lift martial law and immediately returned the investigators near the Ministry of National Defense door without putting them in the field.
Earlier, the Military Human Rights Center claimed at a press conference that Yeo In-hyeong, commander of counterintelligence, contacted Park Heon-soo, head of the Ministry of National Defense's investigation headquarters, to ask for investigators' support, and that Park dispatched military police investigators to the National Assembly.
