Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho and Seoul Metropolitan Police Commissioner Kim Bong-sik, who have been requested for an arrest warrant for their participation in the civil war, will be questioned as suspects before their arrest this afternoon (13th).

The police special investigation team, which arrested them earlier, said that unlike the two who testified before the National Assembly, they knew about martial law in advance.

The National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters' Special Investigation Team on Emergency Security has applied for arrest warrants for Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho and Seoul Police Commissioner Kim Bong-sik.

It's been 36 hours since we made an urgent arrest on the two of them during the investigation.

It was confirmed that the warrant indicated 'the charge of critical missionary work in rebellion'.

They are accused of deploying police to the National Assembly at the time of the emergency martial law to control the access of lawmakers.

The special police team announced the warrant application and said that unlike Cho's remarks at the National Assembly, it was confirmed that he met with President Yoon Suk Yeol and former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun hours before the emergency martial law and heard about the emergency martial law.

Earlier, Commissioner Cho attended the National Assembly and said he knew about the declaration of emergency martial law after watching the news, but it was a false testimony.

As a result, the police seem to have applied for warrants for the two top heads of the organization, considering the seriousness of the allegations that they participated in the civil war after knowing about the declaration of martial law in advance and concerns about destroying evidence.

There is also an interpretation that the prosecution is trying to take the lead in the investigation while the prosecution is expected to narrow down the investigation into Police Commissioner Jo Ji-ho, following former Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun.

Whether Cho and Kim will be arrested is expected to be decided as early as today.
