On the New York Stock Exchange, the Nasdaq rose 0.1% and the Dow shed 0.2%.
The S&P 500 fell 0.16 points, leaving the percentage unchanged.
Meanwhile, U.S. semiconductor company Broadcom surged 24% due to better-than-expected earnings reports, surpassing $1 trillion in market capitalization for the first time ever.
Other semiconductor stocks also joined the rally, with Marvel Technology jumping more than 10% and TSMC and Micron Technology rising more than 4%, but Nvidia and AMD fell more than 2%.
The market noted the Fed's interest rate decision scheduled for next week despite a surge in Broadcom, and analyzed that the overall stock market remained unchanged.
