Japan's Kyodo News reported that the leaders of the G7 countries agreed to continue taking countermeasures against the strengthening of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea over the war in Ukraine.

The leaders of the seven countries - the United States, Japan, Britain, Canada, Germany, France and Italy - held a video conference on the 13th local time, expressing their willingness to continue imposing measures against "supporters of Russia's conduct of the war."

Kyodo News pointed out that it seems clear that it refers to North Korea, which recently sent troops to Russia, over the expression "a supporter of Russia's war."

The G7 leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to support the Ukrainian people's fight for freedom, sovereignty and independence, and reiterated their condemnation of Russia's aggression.

At the same time, the news agency said it also expressed the hope that a peaceful and orderly transfer of power should take place in Syria, which was recently overthrown by rebels by the iron-fisted Bashar al-Assad regime.
