The Daegu District Court's Western Branch sentenced 61-year-old A to one year in prison for making dozens of false 112 reports under the influence of alcohol and threatening the dispatched police officer with a weapon.

A was indicted on charges of threatening with a weapon when a police officer who was dispatched after receiving a 112 report in September asked him to open the front door.

Mr. A repeated the 112 report 56 times, saying that his wallet was missing when he came home drunk for half a day from 3:30 a.m. on the day of the incident, and was found to have been imprisoned once before on charges of obstructing the execution of public affairs.

The court said it sentenced him to prison in consideration of the poor nature of the crime and his past history.
