Democratic "Constitutional Judge tentatively agreed to proceed with hearing from 23rd to 24th"

The Democratic Party of Korea said it has tentatively agreed with the ruling party at the working level to hold confirmation hearings for three constitutional judges at once on the 23rd and 24th.

Kim Han-kyu, the opposition secretary of the National Assembly's Special Committee on Personnel Hearing, met with reporters after the assembly and said, "We gathered opinions between the ruling and opposition party secretaries, and there was a judgment that it was difficult to proceed faster in reality."

He added that he plans to deal with the motion to appoint a constitutional judge at the plenary session on the 30th, and that he will adopt a hearing report the week before.

Yoon Jong-gun, a spokesman for the party, said, "We are discussing the formation of a committee member to impeach President Yoon, but it is likely to be announced today (16th) or tomorrow (17th)," adding, "We will proceed in accordance with the impeachment of former President Park Geun Hye."

The special committee on the parliamentary investigation into the "civil war" proposed by National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik added that it is likely to proceed alone as floor leader Kwon Sung-dong of the People's Power said he would not participate.

In addition, he urged Acting President Han Deok-soo not to exercise his veto power, saying that the general special prosecution bill against civil war will be transferred to the government tomorrow (17th).
