Representative Lee Jae-myung's side filed a challenge to the judge in the 'Trial on Remittance to North Korea

It has been confirmed that Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who was accused of being an accomplice in the Ssangbangwool remittance case, has applied for a judge's challenge.

The Suwon District Court said representative Lee submitted an application to the Criminal Department 11 on the 13th to hear a third-party bribery case related to Ssangbangwool's remittance to North Korea.

The 4th trial preparation date scheduled for tomorrow (17th) will proceed as it is, and representative Lee's lawyer is expected to attend at this time and express his opinion, including the specific reason for the judge's appeal.

Representative Lee also submitted an opinion calling for the court to be re-distributed, saying that the current court, Criminal 11, was found guilty in the first trial of the case, including the violation of the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act by former Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Hwa-young.

At that time, the court did not accept the redistribution opinion, saying that there was no basis in the clear practice and legal literature.
