The Democratic Party of Korea said, "Prime Minister Han, didn't you become president...You have to stop thinking about vetoes.

In addition, the Democratic Party of Korea pointed out that acting Prime Minister Han Deok-soo should not exercise his request for reconsideration, or veto, on bills that have passed the National Assembly alone, such as the Grain Act.

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader of the party, said at the floor meeting that acting Han seems to be mistaken, but Prime Minister Han said that he did not become president only by acting on behalf of the president.

He then said that active exercise of authority beyond passive exercise of authority is not desirable because it only causes infinite political strife and conflict, and urged Han to stop exercising his veto power.

Jin Sung-joon, chairman of the policy committee, also argued that if the acting president, not the elected power, rejects the bill approved by the National Assembly, it is an abuse of authority in itself, and that it is desirable for Prime Minister Han to exercise only the power to maintain the status quo to a minimum.
