An American YouTuber has been at the center of controversy by saying he has filed a complaint with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) against singer IU.

On the 18th, a YouTuber in Korea, 'Parangi', posted a video titled 'I reported IU to the CIA in the United States' on his YouTube channel.

The YouTuber, who is an American woman and said her political orientation is conservative, sarcastically criticized IU, saying, "Our IU, who sings well and is awake, actively supports those who support the impeachment rally and even provides food to promote the impeachment atmosphere."

Earlier, IU made headlines by saying that she pre-paid 200 breads, 200 drinks, 100 rice cakes, and 300 bowls of rice soup for those participating in the impeachment rally, including a bakery cafe, a rice cake shop, and a rice soup restaurant near the National Assembly in Yeouido.

The YouTuber said, "It seems like as many people as possible are coming to the streets to support the impeachment of Yoon Suk Yeol, but I also informed the CIA of IU's move to spread her thoughts more widely," adding, "Let's make sure that you, other than me, inform the CIA of our wonderful Korean celebrities who are awake as much as possible," referring to the "Yoon Suk Yeol Impeachment Proclamation List."

The list included singer Lee Seung-hwan, who performed at the impeachment rally, as well as a number of celebrities known for pre-empting food and drinks for rally participants, including IU, Girls' Generation Yuri, and New Jeans. In addition, names of celebrities who publicly expressed their support for the impeachment, including movie director Bong Joon-ho and writer Kim Eun-sook, who issued statements calling for impeachment, were also posted.

The YouTuber said, "Let's push forward with reporting people who don't even know if they're anti-American," adding, "Please be an IU X."

The mail to the CIA released by YouTuber said, "IU has recently supported the impeachment of the presidential Yoon Suk Yeol of the Republic of Korea, and is helping the impeachment rally of the Yoon Suk Yeol by providing food to the rallyers on behalf of payment to nearby restaurants where the president's impeachment rally is held."

IU is very famous and has a huge influence in Korea. The U.S. expects South Korea's move to impeach the president to be very undesirable. In addition, Koreans who participated in the protest were recently denied visas and entry to the United States, he said, adding, "I report IU who acts inappropriately that creates an atmosphere of impeachment."
