Court cancels dismissal of MBC Chairman Kwon Tae-sun...Loss of the Korea Communications Commission

A court ruled to cancel the dismissal of Kwon Tae-sun, chairman of the Korea Broadcasting Culture Promotion Association, a major shareholder of MBC, by the Korea Communications Commission.

The Seoul Administrative Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff today (19th) in a lawsuit filed by Chairman Kwon against the Korea Communications Commission to cancel the dismissal of visiting directors.

Earlier in August last year, the Korea Communications Commission dismissed Chairman Kwon for neglecting his duty to manage and supervise MBC and its affiliates' management and poor verification in the process of appointing MBC's president.

In response, Chairman Kwon filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Administrative Court and applied for a suspension of execution to stop the effect of the disposition.
