The police expressed regret over the prosecution's seizure of mobile phones of Woo Jong-soo, head of the National Police Agency's National Investigation Headquarters.

The National Police Agency's special investigation team said it is very regrettable that Director Woo's mobile phone was confiscated at a time when he set up a joint investigation headquarters with the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit for a strict investigation as a special head of the National Police Agency.

The police said that all four people whose mobile phones were confiscated were reference persons, and that they will continue to investigate thoroughly without shaking under the joint government system.

This afternoon, the special prosecution raided the National Investigation Headquarters of the National Police Agency in Migeun-dong, Seoul, and secured mobile phones for Director Woo and National Police Agency Investigation Planning Coordinator Yoon Seung-young.

The prosecution suspects that after the emergency martial law was declared on the night of the 3rd, the Defense Security Command contacted the National Defense Headquarters for so-called "arrest assistance" activities, and police deployed personnel accordingly.
