It will be decided as early as today whether Jeon Sung-bae, a "building judge" who is suspected of violating the Political Fund Act, will be arrested.

Jeon is also suspected of intervening in various interests by citing his relationship with Yoon Suk Yeol's president and his wife, so attention is being paid to whether the investigation will expand.

Jeon Seong-bae, a judge wearing a mask, is led by prison guards in handcuffs and heads to the court for a substantial examination of the arrest warrant.

Jeon did not answer questions about whether he received political funds and his relationship with the president and his wife.

Jeon is accused of receiving 100 million won in bribes from a candidate who ran in the Liberty Korea Party's internal election for the mayor of Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, during the 2018 local elections, saying he would help with the election.

While Jeon denies the charges, the prosecution has seized and analyzed tablet PCs as well as cell phones at his home and at the law office.

Jeon is suspected of intervening in various interests by showing off his friendship with the president and his wife.

In fact, he served as an advisor to Kobana Content, run by First Lady Kim Gun-hee, and was also named in the Yoon Suk Yeol candidate camp during the 2022 presidential election.

At that time, President Yoon's camp explained that Jeon only received the title, and President Yoon also dismissed it as new.

As such, the impact is expected depending on what content comes out of mobile phones and tablet PCs, so-called "lawmakers phones."

If an arrest warrant is issued and Jeon's whereabouts are secured, the prosecution's investigation cannot be ruled out that it will expand not only to the local elections in 2018 but also to the entire political world.
