The People's Power strongly opposed the ruling party's response during the December 3 emergency martial law, saying that some members of the Democratic Party of Korea criticized it as a "civil war accomplice," calling it absurd and spreading false information.

Park Hyung-soo, the deputy floor leader, criticized that even immature students would not be able to talk about conspiracy to commit civil war to others, referring to Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Yong-min's remarks that many ruling party members are accomplices of civil war like former floor leader Choo Kyung-ho.

He then said he would demand disciplinary action by the National Assembly Ethics Committee against lawmaker Kim Yong-min, who hid behind his immunity and insulted his fellow lawmaker and spread false information.

Choi Hyung-doo, secretary of the National Assembly's ruling party, also claimed that senior Democratic Party lawmakers, who did not participate in the vote to lift martial law at the time and gathered at the Democratic Party's headquarters, were aware of the civil war, claiming that they would accuse them of conspiracy to commit civil war and conspiracy to commit civil war.
