According to an MBC "News Desk" report on the 18th, A (43), an administrative office worker at an elementary school in Jeollabuk-do, left a suicide note at his home on the 11th.
Mr. A wrote in his suicide note, "I realized that I could not work normally and lead my daily life."
In the recording file found on A's cell phone, a co-worker said, "I'm going to die. Really. I'm so gross," he said. "You're going to die if you work with me. There were voices saying, "Go quickly, teacher," and "You'll die because you're working with me."
In another recording, the same person said, "Sir, don't you even feel sorry for me? I'm so sick of it. Are you sure you're okay? Is it okay for me to do this, sir?"
The bereaved family also claims that A has been suffering from constant verbal abuse by the chief of the administrative office on campus. "When I opened my locked cell phone and pressed the voice file recorded at the funeral hall, the two-hour recording, including sharp verbal abuse, pressing, banging on the desk, and dunning, continued to talk," the deceased's biological sister said on an online community.
"There was a lot of verbal abuse that made me lose my mind just by listening to one recording. This recording continued from the beginning of the year to the last working day, he said. "The principal came all three days of the funeral, so I had no idea that my younger brother was like this to me. My younger brother is having a hard time working. It was really hard to listen to," he said.
The Jeollabuk-do Office of Education has launched an audit to check whether there is bullying in the workplace.
