Russia launched a large-scale missile strike on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, killing more than 10 people and damaging foreign embassies.

There are concerns that if Putin, who is confident in the situation, expands his airstrikes before negotiations on the end of the war, civilian damage could increase.

Correspondent Jo Su-hyun reports from London.

The burned vehicle was disastrously distorted, and apartments and hotel buildings were also severely damaged.

At dawn, Russia launched a large-scale airstrike in the middle of the city center of Kyiv.

The Ukrainian military intercepted five short-range ballistic missiles, which fell throughout the city, causing damage.

[Roxolana Mike / Kyiv Citizen: Three months ago, I lost a close friend to a missile attack. Now I'm in a situation where I don't know what my house will be like at the air raid site.]

The airstrike damaged not only civilian facilities but also buildings containing six foreign embassies, including Argentina and Portugal.

[Herich Thihi / Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: Look at the inside of the embassy building. It was badly damaged by Russian airstrikes.

The EU leadership called it a heinous and barbaric attack targeting civilians and stressed that diplomatic delegations should not be targeted in any case.

Russia's Defense Ministry said the airstrike was retaliation for Ukraine's attack on the country's southern border with long-range U.S.-British missiles on the 18th.

In the meantime, the Ukrainian military is releasing videos of North Korean military attacks every day, but President Putin has not even mentioned the North Korean military's participation in the war.

Analysts say Russia is unwilling to acknowledge the reality of the need for North Korean troops amid observations that its dependence on North Korean weapons is increasing.

Earlier, Putin also praised the situation as the Russian military's advance on major fronts continues to change dramatically.

Before the Trump administration is launched in January next year, the prospects for the end of the war are uncertain.

In the meantime, the international community is concerned that a series of large-scale Russian airstrikes could increase civilian damage.
