Recently, a series of wild boars appeared near the trail of Hallasan Mountain in Jeju, and surprised hikers were once isolated and moved down.

If you encounter a wild boar, you should slowly leave the scene without throwing things or making loud noises.

I'm reporter Kim Kyung-im of KCTV Jeju Broadcasting.

Seongpanak Trail on the 13th.

A wild boar stands out under a tree on the Seongpanak Trail in Hallasan Mountain, where snow is piled up.

On the 13th, four wild boars appeared on the trail near 1,150m above sea level.

At that time, about 30 hikers were isolated, but fortunately, no one was hurt as the wild boar moved elsewhere.

This is not the first time wild boar has appeared on the trail.

On the 10th, wild boars appeared on the Seongpanak trail, and hikers came down on the monorail,

On the 14th, a group of seven wild boars appeared, and the capture team was dispatched during the night time to catch four.

Some of the captured wild boars weighed 200 kg.

In addition, it also appears in the middle of the mountain, such as Goseong-ri, Aewol-eup, Jeju-si.

The range of activities of wild boars is expanding in search of winter food,

Especially this year, it is often found near trails as the number of people increases and the time spent in the mountains increases due to milder weather than usual.

[Jang Ho-jin / Secretary-General of the Jeju Wildlife Management Association: Wild boars and wild animals are breeding season from mid-October to January, so it seems that wild boars and wild animals have a wide range of activities, so they have even appeared on the trail. I think the population has increased quite a lot. Compared to the previous year, about 30%? I think I captured 20-30% more.]

In the wake of a series of appearances, Hallasan National Park has posted a warning sign while trying to capture at night when there are no hikers.

When you meet a wild boar, it is important not to go near and scream or make loud noises.

Especially if you are with a baby, you should be more careful as your aggression increases.

[Ji Mi-young / Hallasan National Park Management Team: Don't throw branches, stones, or dangerous objects. If a wild boar is in close proximity, hide behind a rock or a tree, or wait for the wild boar to pass.

As wild boars appear frequently everywhere, it is necessary to learn how to deal with them in advance.
