The government is unlikely to introduce the Insurrection Special Prosecutor Act and the Special Prosecutor Kim Gun-hee Act to the Cabinet meeting tomorrow (24th).

An official from the Prime Minister's Office said that it is necessary to consider the constitution and laws by January 1 next year, the deadline for vetoing the two independent counsel laws.

This means that we will not accept the Democratic Party's demand to promulgate the Special Prosecutor Act by tomorrow (24th).

As a result, the possibility of acting President Han Deok-soo exercising his veto power at the Cabinet meeting on the 31st, the day before the deadline for exercising the veto power, or voting on the two bills as passed by the National Assembly has increased.

Earlier, acting Han Deok-soo presided over an extraordinary Cabinet meeting on the 19th and vetoed six controversial bills, including the Grain Management Act, drawing opposition from the opposition party.
