Chun Jae-hyun, deputy director of the Constitutional Court, said in a briefing today, "In accordance with the Supreme Court precedent, the effect of the delivery service occurs when the litigation document reaches the place to be served."
He explained that he sent documents by electronic documents since the 16th, but he judged that the 19th sent by mail was the time of delivery and that the date of arrival of the documents could be interpreted as the 20th.
As a result, President Yoon must submit an answer to the impeachment trial within seven days of the arrival of the document, and the Constitutional Court plans to discuss the situation later in the court if the answer does not come.
The Constitutional Court also added that the first hearing date on the 27th will proceed as scheduled.
