The special investigation headquarters of the prosecution's emergency martial law is investigating Baek Chul-ki, the head of the military police of the Capital Corps, as a reference today (23rd).
The prosecution is expected to check whether Baek has ever received a request for detention facilities from counterintelligence agents.
Earlier, Kim Dae-woo, head of the counterintelligence investigation team, testified to the National Assembly that he was instructed to check whether there was a facility to lock up the arrestees in a bunker inside the Army Capital Defense Command.
Since then, the prosecution, which is checking the situation in which the arrest order was made for politicians and others, is said to be looking into whether the detention facilities have been reviewed not only by the investigation but also by nearby units.
The Army Capital Corps is one of the units known to have received a request from the Counterintelligence Command to transfer pending water to empty detention facilities.
