In a telephone conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi this evening, Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol explained the recent domestic situation related to the emergency martial law and the impeachment of the president and shared opinions on ways to improve Korea-China relations.
Minister Cho stressed that the Korean government's position to continue to develop the Korea-China strategic cooperative partnership even under the acting president system remains unchanged.
Wang replied that he would closely communicate and cooperate with the Korean side in various fields to ensure that the good flow of Korea-China relations continues.
The two ministers decided to continue strategic communication to manage the situation on the Korean Peninsula in a stable manner amid the consensus that peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula are in the common interests of the two countries.
