On-site due diligence to host the 2036 Seoul Olympics begins today.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon said on social media that preparations for the Seoul Olympics have begun in earnest.

He stressed that if the 88 Olympics is a historical moment that showed the potential and potential of the Republic of Korea, the 2036 Olympics will be another historical milestone that shows the soft power and future vision of the Republic of Korea, which has established itself as a "cultural power."

The Seoul Metropolitan Government explained that the Korea Sports Science Institute conducted a preliminary feasibility study for the 2036 Seoul Olympics from May to November and found that the benefit/cost ratio was 1.03, securing economic feasibility.

Local government heads who wish to host the Olympics must request a preliminary feasibility study from a specialized agency determined by the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism in accordance with the International Games Support Act and submit the results.
