The People's Power applied to the Constitutional Court for a power dispute trial and a suspension of effectiveness over the impeachment of Han Deok-soo, acting president and prime minister, which passed the National Assembly led by the opposition.

Joo Jin-woo, chairman of the party's legal advisory committee, said that the Democratic Party's proposal to veto the bill, opposition to the deliberation of the emergency Cabinet, and the suspension of the appointment of constitutional judges were properly performed in accordance with the Constitution and laws and are not grounds for impeachment.

He then argued that it was a serious unconstitutional interpretation that Prime Minister Han did not apply the weighted impeachment quorum equivalent to the president and 200 seats in the impeachment vote, even though he also served as acting president.

He added that the actions of the Democratic Party and others were invalid, seriously violating the ruling party's right to represent the people and to deliberate and vote on the impeachment, and that the declaration of invalidity and suspension of effect are necessary for violations of the Constitution and the National Assembly Act.
