Acting Chief Executive Choi Sang-mok said, "Deep condolences..."Preparation for Declaration of Special Disaster Zone"

Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Sang-mok expressed deep condolences over the large number of casualties caused by the aircraft accident at Muan Airport in South Jeolla Province.

After arriving at the scene of the Muan accident, Choi presided over the second Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Meeting at the Muan County Office after operating the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters in earnest.

Acting President Choi prayed for the souls of those who were killed in the accident and expressed his sincere condolences to the bereaved families.

He said he would do his best to recover the injured quickly.

Choi said the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters is putting all necessary resources into the area and is preparing to declare a special disaster zone.

He added that all related agencies will work together to rescue and deal with damage, and that they will thoroughly investigate the cause of the accident and come up with measures to prevent recurrence to prevent similar accidents.
