South Korea and the U.S. will hold the 4th Korea-U.S. Nuclear Consultative Group, NCG Meeting in Washington, D.C., on the 10th of next month, which was postponed in the aftermath of the emergency martial law crisis.

The ministry said the meeting will be organized by Cho Chang-rae, head of the ministry's defense policy office, and Cara Abercrombie, the U.S. acting deputy secretary of defense for policy.

At the meeting, South Korea and the U.S. will review the progress made by the NCG, including security and information sharing procedures, after completing the guidelines for nuclear deterrence and nuclear operations on the Korean Peninsula.

Earlier on the 4th, the two countries were scheduled to hold the 4th NCG meeting and the 1st NCG iconography practice in Washington, D.C., but it was postponed without promise due to the emergency martial law crisis.

The NCG is a bilateral consultative body and kind of window for South Korea to express its opinion on U.S. nuclear operations, and this meeting will be the last of its kind in the Biden administration ahead of the Trump administration's launch on the 20th of next month.
