On January 9th, Carter's funeral...Biden "Closes Government Departments"

Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, who died at the age of 100, will be honored at the Washington National Cathedral in the capital, Washington, D.C., on the 9th of next month.

Former President Carter's funeral will be attended by former and current U.S. presidents, but it is unclear whether President-elect Donald Trump, who has been a harsh critic of the deceased, will attend, the New York Times reported.

In the meantime, U.S. President Joe Biden has designated the 9th of next month as a "National Day of Mourning" for Carter, and has also decided to temporarily close federal agencies and administration departments.

The White House said President Biden issued the executive order in honor of Carter.

However, it allowed each ministry or agency to determine the organization that should operate normally and the number of people who should work according to national security and other public needs.
