Ministry of Foreign Affairs "Prepared Chairman of APEC Summit is Acting Chief Choi Sang-mok"

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the head of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and APEC Preparatory Committee, which will be held by Korea in the second half of next year, is acting President Choi Sang-mok.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told reporters today that the prime minister will chair the APEC summit preparatory committee, and Choi, who is also acting as the prime minister, will take over the chairmanship.

The official said that the preparatory committee for the summit has not yet been specifically operated or practical work has begun, adding that he thinks the committee will also operate in earnest once the year changes and preparations begin in earnest.
