The power of the people expressed strong regret over the appointment of some of the constitutional judges by Acting President Choi Sang-mok.

Floor leader Kwon Sung-dong told reporters at the National Assembly that Choi's decision would remain a false precedent, saying he gave in to the opposition's threat to impeach him.

He also stressed that the presidential impeachment trial is a major national issue, and that no matter what the outcome, our society will experience extreme confrontation and confusion, and that the only way to reduce it is to ensure procedural fairness.

He also pointed out that the appointment of a constitutional judge by the acting president, who should maintain the status quo, constitutes a significant "change in status quo" and that he should look back on Prime Minister Han Deok-soo's decision.
