Police form an investigation team dedicated to malicious postings in Jeju Air disaster

The police have set up a dedicated investigation team at the National Police Agency across the country to respond to malicious online posts directed at the victims and bereaved families of the Jeju Air disaster.

The National Police Agency announced that it will form an investigation team dedicated to responding to malicious postings led by the head of the investigation bureau of the National Investigation Headquarters and expand the investigation team dedicated to malicious postings related to Jeju Air plane accidents to the cyber investigation teams of the metropolitan and provincial police agencies nationwide.

Accordingly, the dedicated investigation team, which had been operated by the Jeonnam Police Agency so far with 25 people, has been drastically increased to 118 people and will be operated nationwide.

Each investigation team plans to strengthen monitoring of defamation, insulting posts and videos related to victims of the disaster.

If any illegal activities are found, we will launch an investigation or investigation before the bookings and work closely with related agencies to delete the posts.
