This is the 202nd Security Team under the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, which is responsible for the security of the official residence along with the Presidential Security Service.

It is also the first gateway for the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit and the police special investigation team to cross before executing an arrest warrant against the president.

This has led some to worry that if a police task force is deployed to execute the warrant, it could confront the guards.

In fact, the 202 Guard Corps, which is wary of the outskirts of the official residence, is instructed by the security agency in practice, but the legal command authority rests with the head of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.

"This is being shared with the front line as well," an incumbent official of the 202 Guard told YTN reporters, adding, "When we come to execute the warrant, we will not block it and focus on maintaining order around the residence."
