The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said that it will be very cold today as a strong cold spell below minus 30 degrees Celsius moves south over the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, with the morning minimum temperature falling below minus 12 degrees Celsius, especially in cold weather areas such as Gyeonggi and Gangwon.
Other central inland areas, such as Seoul, will also be cold around minus 10 degrees Celsius, and the wind chill will remain between minus 10 degrees Celsius and minus 15 degrees Celsius.
The extreme cold will continue through Saturday, with some heavy snow expected to fall between Sunday and Monday, mainly in the central part of the country.
