The Criminal Investigation Office for high-ranking government officials investigating the emergency martial law situation is expected to execute an arrest warrant for President Yoon Suk Yeol as early as today (3rd).

Since obtaining an arrest warrant on the 31st of last month, the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit has been in talks with the police on the specific timing and method of execution.

Usually, it is common to execute quickly when an arrest warrant is issued, but this time, the process has been carried out publicly and it seems that the timing and method are being considered in consideration of the specificity of the incumbent president.

The Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit is reportedly considering avoiding physical clashes with supporters as well as the presidential security service.

The warrant deadline is January 6, three days later.
