North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met and encouraged the players of the national soccer team who won the Women's World Cup under 17 last year, the Korean Central News Agency reported.

Chairman Kim met with the players at the Labor Party headquarters building yesterday (2nd) and praised the country's reputation, encouraging excellent performance and development, the news agency said.

According to a photo of Chairman Kim released by the North Korean media, he was very happy to raise his thumbs or clench his two fists to the players.

Following last year's U-20 Women's World Cup, North Korea also won the U-17 Women's World Cup.
