Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell, who met with Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun in Washington at the end of last year, announced the resumption of diplomatic and security schedules between South Korea and the U.S., which had been suspended due to martial law, and said he would schedule talks soon.

[Kurt Campbell / U.S. Deputy Secretary of State (Last month, 23rd): I think it's important to schedule a meeting with the expectation that an important consultative body in the Korea-U.S. relationship will be maintained.]

Secretary of State Tony Blinken is making his last visit to South Korea with about two weeks left in the Biden administration, a foreign official said.

It is known that he will visit Korea as early as the 5th.

There is a possibility that he will meet with Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol on the 6th and hold the last foreign ministers' meeting between South Korea and the U.S. to hold a press briefing.

Blinken, who expressed serious concern about declaring martial law and called the impeachment process a democratic resilience, is expected to directly address the evaluation of Korean democracy and the unwavering alliance stance between the U.S. and South Korea.

[Secretary of State Tony Blinken] (April 4) : Korea is the world's strongest example when it comes to democratic development and democratic resilience, and we will pay attention to whether Korea will continue to set such an example.]

Blinken is also expected to share opinions on the Korea-U.S. relationship in the upcoming second Trump administration. However, it is unclear whether he will meet with acting authority Choi Sang-mok.

After completing his Korean schedule, Blinken plans to continue his visit to Japan.
