Syria to resume international flights in Damascus from July 7

International flights in the Syrian capital of Damascus will resume a month after the end of the civil war, AFP and other foreign media reported.

Syrian air transport officials said they would resume international flights to and from Damascus airport from the 7th.

The official added that Damascus and Aleppo airports, which were shut down due to damage to facilities while driving out Bashar al-Assad's regime last month, were being restored.

Domestic flights at the two airports resumed on the 18th of last month, 10 days after rebels took over Damascus.

Earlier, Qatar Airways said it would re-air flights to Damascus from the 7th.

Foreign aircraft for civilian relief are already in service.
