As snow begins in the metropolitan area, heavy snow warnings are gradually expanding in northeastern Gyeonggi Province and northern Yeongseo, Gangwon Province.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that 1 to 3cm of snow fell in northeastern Gyeonggi Province, including Paju, Gimpo, Dongducheon and Yangju, while snow is gradually expanding to northern Gangwon Province and other metropolitan areas.

The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) said today that as the low pressure centered in the north passes, it will snow up to 10cm in inland Gangwon Province and mountains, up to 8cm in northeastern Gyeonggi Province, and 1 to 5cm in snow is expected in Seoul and other western inland areas.

This snow will gradually expand and fall strongly until the morning, especially in Gangwon and some parts of Gyeonggi Province, wet and strong snow of 1 to 2 cm per hour is expected, so caution against damage to facilities and sliding accidents is needed.

The snow will gradually subside from the Seoul metropolitan area late this afternoon or evening and will mostly stop overnight, and the strongest cold wave will come this winter, with the temperature falling to minus 10 degrees Celsius in the morning of Seoul in the middle of the week.
