With the victims of the Jeju Air plane disaster being handed over to their families, the government said it will simplify various documents of evidence for funeral procedures and support the convenience of bereaved families by dedicated officials.

Lee Han-kyung, head of the Disaster and Safety Management Division of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, made the remarks at the 10th meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters related to the disaster.

He also said he will carefully examine the bereaved families and continue to provide necessary support after the funeral, adding that the National Trauma Center is working to provide careful and sufficient support, including psychological support, legal counsel such as inheritance and compensation, and emergency care for the bereaved families.

In addition, Lee said he is preparing to extend the operation of the joint memorial altar in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do and a second joint memorial system to continue mourning and memorializing the victims.
