A senior presidential office official said yesterday (4th) that illegal activities are taking place, including one police officer being injured during a protest by the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions near the presidential residence, adding that the police's loose response method is worsening the situation.
At a police command meeting last month, he stressed a "flexible response to rallies" and pointed out that public power has been virtually neutralized, and if this situation continues, it could lead to a collapse of public power, which could lead to an uncontrollable situation.
Complaints are growing among police field personnel, with posts criticizing the command's passive response, adding that one side is also complaining that the opposition party is too wary of it.
