The Korea-U.S. foreign ministers' meeting will be held in Seoul today (6th) for the first time since the emergency martial law crisis.

Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol will meet with U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building this morning to discuss regional issues such as the South Korea-U.S.-Japan cooperation plan, including the South Korea-U.S. alliance, and the North Korean issue.

The South Korea-U.S. foreign ministers' meeting is the first high-level face-to-face contact between South Korea and the U.S. since President Yoon Suk Yeol declared an emergency martial law last month and the impeachment of the president and the prime minister took place.

The meeting, which is also the last ministerial-level contact with the Biden administration, is expected to evaluate the South Korea-U.S. alliance and strengthening cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. and Japan, and emphasize that this trend should continue in the Trump administration.
