The presidential office said Kim received a phone call from U.S. Ambassador to South Korea Philip Goldberg shortly after martial law was declared on the 3rd and said he knew nothing about anything other than the presidential statement.
Deputy Kim went on to say that he should continue communication between governments while watching the situation later, and that he had never spoken to Ambassador Goldberg the morning after martial law was declared, and emphasized that what lawmaker Chung mentioned was a fabricated claim.
He also criticized Ambassador Goldberg for continuing his propaganda incitement by misleading the truth for not answering his phone for a while, and when it turned out to be false, he said he said something he didn't even say.
He added that such fake news is an act of alienating the Korea-U.S. alliance and should be stopped immediately.
