Reuters reported that a bluefin tuna was sold for 207 million yen at the annual tuna auction at Tokyo Toyosu Fish Market in the early hours of yesterday (5th), the second-highest price since the Toyosu Fish Market auction began in 1999.
Weighing 276 kg, the large bluefin tuna was purchased jointly by a well-known tuna wholesaler and the owner of a high-end sashimi restaurant, Reuters explained.
The highest price at the annual tuna auction was 333.6 million yen set in 2019, and our money was 3,116.84 million won, which has not been broken so far.
