Public opinion has emerged in some parts of Vietnam to boycott the Netflix original 'Squid Game' Season 2.

Vietnamese authorities will officially announce 'Squid Game 2' after deliberation on it, local media Tuoy Tre Online reported on the 27th of last month (local time).

An official from the authorities said, "We are aware of the controversy over Season 2 of 'Squid Game' and are reviewing the contents according to the film law, and the results will come out soon."

The controversial scene reveals that the character "Daeho," played by actor Kang Ha-neul, served in the military as a Marine.

In the drama, "Jung-bae" (Lee Seo-hwan), a senior Marine Corps member, told Dae-ho, "Did you send the second reader to the Marine Corps? When he said, "Son, such a precious son," Daeho said, "My father sent me to become a little manly. He was a Vietnam War veteran." In response, Jung-bae responded, "Your father is excellent."

Vietnamese netizens are protesting the scene by reacting sharply, such as "a line justifying the Vietnam War," "I touched Vietnam's painful wounds," and "I boycott 'Squid Game 2'.

On the other hand, reactions such as "It cannot be said that it praised the Vietnam War" and "It was just a lack of consideration."

Media reported that there are already signs of boycotting 'Squid Game 2' in Vietnam.

The Vietnam War, called the Vietnam War, was a 20-year war with the United States from 1955 to 1975 for the independence and unification of Vietnam. At that time, the South Korean military dispatched 320,000 troops at the request of the U.S. military.
