Chairman Kwon said at an emergency committee meeting that the Democratic Party of Korea put a "civil war frame" on the ruling camp and started a race for speed under the goal of holding a presidential election before the second trial of Lee Jae-myung's alleged violation of the Public Official Election Act.
He then insisted to the Senior Civil Servant Corruption Investigations Unit that if it is a true investigative agency, it should not play into political instigation but investigate it in a arbitrary way within the legal framework in consideration of its national prestige.
Referring to the past investigation of Chairman Lee and former leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, he reiterated that he hopes the president, who has only been suspended, will clarify his arbitrary investigation policy in accordance with the principles of the Criminal Procedure Act.
