The Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs said that the late Lee Young-do, a member of the Korea Forest Service who died on the 3rd after rescuing lives at Mt. Seorak, raised flags at veterans' offices and national cemeteries across the country today when he will be buried at Daejeon National Cemetery.

The deceased, who was an aerial evolutionary worker at the Gangneung Forest Aviation Management Office of the Korea Forest Aviation Administration, was killed when he crashed while climbing a helicopter using a rope after rescuing a fall patient near an evacuation center in Yongdae-ri, Buk-myeon, Inje-gun, Gangwon-do.

Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs Kang Jeong-ae said, "We will honor the noble sacrifice of Lee Young-do, who died while protecting the people's lives," and emphasized that we will strive to spread the culture of veterans' respect for those left behind and those who work at risk.
