The U.S. State Department introduced the results of Secretary Tony Blinken's visit to Korea and emphasized the importance of trilateral cooperation.

The State Department said Blinken met with Acting President Choi Sang-mok to discuss bilateral cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. and three-way cooperation between South Korea and Japan across important issues, including the APEC summit that South Korea is hosting this year.

He also expressed his condolences for the tragic loss of life following the Jeju Air disaster and emphasized that the U.S. is ready to support South Korea in this difficult time.

At the same time, Blinken explained that he reaffirmed the U.S. trust in the continued power of the Korea-U.S. alliance, a key pillar of peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region, and emphasized an ironclad commitment to defending Korea.

The State Department also introduced that it discussed the importance of continuous cooperation between South Korea and the U.S. and trilateral cooperation during a meeting with National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik.

Secretary Blinken's visit seems to emphasize his desire to maintain cooperation among the three countries, which is considered President Biden's greatest achievement in the upcoming second Trump administration.
